Inauguration

Well, I've finally broken down and decided to write a blog, a decade after it became passe. But since you're reading this, at least someone must still find value in these things, right?

As my inaugural post, I think I should explain what I'm intending to accomplish here. This is going to be a place where I talk about the future. By this I mean the real future, not the theatrical sci-fi that dominates our landscape and looks as quaint and silly to me, as the 1950s retro-futurism that you see all over Disney's "Tomorrowland" - and Amazon has entire categories for under its Science Fiction/Fantasy book catalog.

I am a writer as well, and I have a number of published works, but this place is more intended to discuss things that haven't been categorically proven to be impossible.

I'm going to try to update this at least once a week. We'll see how that goes. I make far too much in my day job to be interested in monetization (which google helpfully prods about in the sidebar), but if I get positive feedback, or really any feedback, it might inspire me to work on this more.
